WHO released the 11th version of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) 18 June 2018.

Adoption by the World Health Assembly is anticipated in mid-2019. 

The codes have been updated to reflect 21st century advances in science and medicine. ICD-11 is advanced to integrate the condition codes with electronic health applications and information systems further enhancing capture of data, integrating systems and bring the classification system into the digital information age.
